Nah at my place they probably will greet us politely and you can also chat with the boss too

This is actually socially acceptable in Japan.

I won’t be rude to the customer that arrives when we’re starting to close, I’ll smile politely and do my job, but inside I’ll be hating them and every generation of their family until they leave.

If restaurant owners heard a noise complaint, maybe they would do something about it

I wonder if it would change if it became common for restaurants to require that everybody stay an hour after close to do the cleanup and close out. I’ve worked in places where that’s the standard, and nobody really complained about the last-minute customer. This is not an issue if it was part of the agreed employment arrangement. If you’re going to be there anyway, it’s not that big of a deal.

At that point the chairs are already on the table and you tell them the sit down area is closed.

Who is the guy in the picture?

Usually they “politely” insist you take out, and I think it’s fair, who eats dinner at 11:30 pm anyways

We reserve the right to refuse service to all assholes who order 2 minutes til close

That’s why there kitchen close time  and restaurant close time

Yeah, shop is still open so the group shouldn’t complain.
