Starwars Battlefront 2. They fixed up the game, removed the micro transactions, and now it’s just been left to rot despite still having a large active player base. They couldn’t even be bothered to finish capital supremacy for the Rebellion era.

Basically most of Blizzard. (Though I am enjoying Diablo IV, and I’m looking forward to playing the Warcraft remakes once my PC is fixed).

genuinely one of the most tragic things in gaming. imagine spending 600+ million and 8 years on a game only to abandon it 2 years into it’s lifecycle for more fucking GTAO
the more i play it, the more i just hate GTAO for existing lol. it damn near feels like a fucking scam lol

Can’t make sushi out of them, can’t raid any Bronze Age civilization with them. What’s the point, they are just a fat tumor hanging off of the plotline

MGSV fits this perfectly for me.
I am such a huge MGS fan but V is such a disaster for so many reasons. The biggest being the fact that it just simply didn’t need to exist.
MGS4 was such a brilliant end to the saga. Let a beautiful thing die instead of pumping in an unnecessary storyline and fan service into a weird final installment.

Was playing it on steamdeck for a couple of days in a row. Then EA decided to change their launcher, so it made me unable to continue the game, so I just stopped playing it. I can probably fix it now, but it just ruined the playthrough

Halo really spiraled off the edge after Reach. Any time 343 had a good idea, they only reacted to the backlash and scrapped everything to start over with the next game. 5 might be ugly as sin but it had some good ideas with Warzone, and while they might never have quite figured out how to tell a good story, we didn’t need whatever the hell Far Cry Halo was in Infinite.

Warframe. Game was really soild pre open world. DE has a massive problem with content islands. They just keep making new content that doesn’t enrich the main gameplay. This game now has five different open worlds even though the main draw was the amazing movement system that now gets neglected do to too many open spaces. Thanks to their obsession with the next shiny thing they have neglected to improve tons of older frames and systems in favor of drawing in new players. That’s not even mentioning how bad the writing has gotten since the New war. I’ll always be grateful to have played Warframe but I definitely fell out of love with it after DE made it clear that they will never fix their feature creep.

Relic when they made Dawn of War 3 or Company of Heroes 3. Dow3 was a big slap in the face of people hoping for the next iteration of that series. CoH3 was a fine game that did absolutely nothing new except develop new ways to monetize a real-time-strategy game.

I ended up quitting MTG altogether. I love card games, and a friend of mine got me to try MTG. I liked it for a while, and played this because of its much easier accessibility when you want to play a quick game. Ended up hating MTG altogether as a whole though. Every time a new set would drop, its the exact same thing. For the first 2-3 weeks its almost the exact same meta net decks all the time, back to back, with almost no difference between them. Just a bunch of people splashing cash on card packs to immediately get all the best rares and kit out their decks the same that every other top ranking player or YTer is doing. Or you will face someone playing a control deck who never actually takes their turn, but takes YOUR turns. They immediately skip after their draw phrase, and then as soon as its your turn, thats when they start playing, and they hold priority while they “think” every. single. move. It sucked every bit of fun out of it for me, and made me never want to play a single game again.
