I got expelled because I exposed a teacher who stole and sold the students phones

Bit of both honestly. I remember one school cracking down on bullying and freshman hazing and hearing the teachers lamenting how freshman now cause a lot more problems because they don’t understand where they are in the pecking order.
As a teacher who had to report and manage bullying, I can tell you that there’s not much we could do. Like, the codes of conduct and procedures for suspensions/expulsions seem almost built to protect the bullies.
Trust me though, when I say that we see the victims, and our hearts break that we often can’t do more than give a detention or a talking to the bully.
Dealt with this when my son was being ruthlessly bullied in middle school. “Oh you don’t want to ruin the other boy’s chances in school going forward” like actually I don’t give a flying fuck about the kid who torments mine own, and I don’t give a good goddamn about you Mr Administrator who just wants to cover it all up. Zero Tolerance my ass.
