Because brain-rotted little kids use YT shorts. And there are a lot of brain-rotted kids on the internet nowadays.

Shorts are popular? YouTube keeps trying to shove them in my face and I just keep clicking the “not interested” button.
I like to watch things with a meal. I cancelled my Netflix subscription because I would regularly finish my dinner before finding something i could be bothered to watch. I wouldn’t even invest enough to click on a 2h movie why would I tap on something that won’t even entertain me while I brush my teeth?
Because it’s a good format. Vine and tik tok both suck because vine had a 15 second limit and tik tok has a 1 minute limit but youtube shorts has a 3 minute limit.
They’re lazy
I have my firewall set to block all shorts and similar URLs.
I turn off shorts with a plugin. Never going to watch them.
It keeps irritating me by coming top of my feed

Platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram push short videos HARD because they keep people scrolling for hours. One short turns into ten, and before you know it, you’ve spent an hour watching random clips of cooking hacks and dogs doing tricks.Plus,you never know what the next video will be, and that unpredictability keeps you hooked.
Everyone creamed over vines back in the day but this, this is a step too far right?
