Trust me, you want the HDMI out for troubleshooting your graphics card.

1. Adds more cost
2. Most people don’t use them
3. More lanes dedicated to the drives so either overall slower usb/ethernet or less options for storage/lice drives.
4. Rear Io is typically harder to access
5. People use other ports on rear Io other than USB, HDMI for example is a very useful port similar with the speakers option.

Simple, it would eat up essentially all the PCIe bandwidth available if it didn’t put all of the ports on the same controller at which point it starts looking the point of having that many when you can just get a hub.

There was once a time when a PC case could’ve had USB ports galore, even SD card and CD readers, but you bastards genocided the 5.25″ bay cases and nearly drove them to extinction in favor of tempered glass and aesthetics. Now only a few of us are left to care for this dying breed. ?width=1776&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15d99504e4845483da51f7eebd78b791514ed7ac

What would you even use them for? List 25 USB devices that you need to be connected to your PC at the same time.
EDIT:
I’ll help everyone with a list even if it is unrealistic that you would even own all these and you would by no means be able to use all of them at the same time.
1. Mouse
2. Keyboard
3. Headphones
4. Speakers
5. Microphone
6. Webcam
7. Controller
8. Fight/Arcade Stick
9. Steering Wheel
10. Pedals
11. Joystick
12. Throttle
13. VR Headset
14. VR controller
15. Printer
16. Disk Drive
17. LAN adapter
18-25. 8 external SSDs to store all the “content” you like to enjoy on your VR headset
I know this is basically circlejerk subreddit at this point, but the reason is because motherboards have limited amount of USB controllers, in fact they don’t have enough even for what you see already. You can always expand the ports with a USB-hub, but the manufacturer provides what should *work*

I saw something like that I can’t remember where. In all honesty if you need that much of USB ports get some hub like:
In all honesty no consumer chipset gives that much of lanes and you will be end up using some kind of switch/hub solution any way with limited bandwidth, so get an external one and you will have the perk of easier access and we both no speed is no issue for most thing you would plug.

Its a limitation of pcie lanes. You want more USB ports, you lose other stuff, like m.2 slots and pcie slots
The reason i bought this one was precisely because of all the ports and 2.5G
The USB-C goes straight to my monitor which has another 4 USB ports built in like a hub.
And 10 more usb slot can be added.

The reason i bought this one was precisely because of all the ports and 2.5G
The USB-C goes straight to my monitor which has another 4 USB ports built in like a hub.
If you have an empty PCI-E slot (most of you do), you could add a USB expansion card/USB hub like this
Naw man, I definitely want a few more display ports also… Then like 1 HDMI as a backup. Display ports are just so damn good.
I hate you for removing the SPDIF Port. It is a shitty connector but by far the best in terms of quality retention.
