No one person should make more than a million dollars a year. If you make more than a million dollars a year your tax rate should be extreme.

They can just cancel their Netflix, stop eating out and getting takeaway. With some bootstrap pulling they’ll be millionaires by this time next year Rodders.

Billionaires wouldn’t lose all their money typically. Most of their wealth isn’t in bank accounts but land, assets, and other such things. The rich stay rich because they know how to handle their wealth. However, most billionaires are also dickheads. So I am sure that has something to do with it too.

If some billionaire donates all his money and goes on to do this challenge, without the possibility of never coming back to his wealth, then you know that what they sell you is not bullshit.
Simple. Now I have never ever seen any billionaire burn his bridges like his, have you?

I know people are having fun but… That’s actually true.
Billionaires are not billionaires because they have billions. They are billionaires because shit they started generated billions for them.
So get Elon Musk and take away everything he has. And then do the same with the average Joe.
I guarantee you that the average Joe will be homeless at the end of the month and Musk will have millions loaned by someone or gathered on some platform and will make another business that will have value that will allow him to handle another project.
Because unlike average Joe even if you take his assets, he will still have many rich people’s trust. He will have his connections. Rich friends basically. And he knows how to run a business.
That’s the reality of things. This is also why rich kids have rich kids. Because once you are rich you hang around other rich people and they help one another.
And that works on all scales. I have business relations with some millionaires that started because I worked for them. And now I make more money than 99% of people in my country. 17 years ago I could not afford new shoes.
And that happens only because they value connections and trust. They rather overpay me, making sure I make extra money than hire someone cheaper but untested and unknown. And I extend that to people I work with. So some make double what they were making at a corporate job. I make enough anyway and I rather work with people that are happy while working with me than make few extra bucks.
Not to mention that I can provide quality service because anyone I work with put every effort into making sure the client is happy because at the end of the day if we fail, they might need to go back to corporate job that pays half of what they make now.
So here is a hint – if you have a business that makes way more money than it costs to run it – pay your people more. You wont believe how much better your company will run when every employee will care how well company is doing.
Just do not take any investors. Because those investors do not care about longevity of your company and will rather make extra buck than see people being paid above market.

“The ownership class deserves to collect most of the profits because they’re running the greatest risks.”
What risk exactly? To drop down from the ownership class into the working class?
Where most of us already are?

I think of money differently. I think the billionaires are all really poor because when you’re dealing with that kind of money you’re looking at, how much more you could make and there are guaranteed to be trillionaires on this planet compared to them. They’re just poor.

Take away their money and greedy friends to help, I doubt almost any of the wealthy could last a month. They lack basic skills.

Billionaires often exhibit a superhuman work ethic. One of Elon Musk’s ex-wives once shared a detailed comment about the challenges of being married to a CEO like him. While intended as a critique, her account highlighted Musk’s extraordinary energy and relentless drive as a businessman—traits that seem almost superhuman in their intensity. You could say the same about Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Oprah Winfrey, LeBron James, and so on. These billionaires are known for their insane work ethic and drive.
