If I had a kid born on or around Christmas, I would celebrate their half birthday. Just pick a date in May or June when you can invite classmates or friends to a party when you get a few gifts where everyone else isn’t getting gifts or too busy to show up. That really is the whole point of a birthday is a single day of the year were you get to be the focus and feel special.
I’m a Christmas baby, and I approve.

My birthday was the 23rd. I started celebrating my half birthday around 10 years ago and I love it. Summer has so many more options for what kind of party you can throw and I have so much more energy to throw one.

Just had our Xmas dinner (go parents Xmas eve instead of Xmas day) and had my son a birthday cake for pudding, mum did have a cheesecake on stand by but everyone went for the birthday cake.

My daughter’s first birthday, in 10 minutes. I refused and we threw the party two weeks ago. 😅 it’s a little easier bc we’re Mexican and do multiple gifts on reyes in January instead of Christmas, but still. The American in me even with a year to process it could not handle celebrating a birthday on Christmas Day!

😂 reminds me of when I was pregnant and my due date was not til January but the baby had been trying to exit since October so I told anyone and everyone who would listen that I was not going to have a Christmas baby and every night I told my baby just that. Well he listened somewhat because he was born on the 16th of December but not a Christmas day baby atleast. He gets his birthday and Christmas because he deserves both yay
My partner was born Dec 27, so she knows this pain well. Especially the combo xmas/bday gift.

I give you my worst Merry Fucking Birthday gift- when I was a teenager someone gave me a single glove on my Merry Birthday. I was confused until Christmas a few days later when they gave me the other glove.
They thought they were hilarious. I was less than amused. Only a pair of Christmas socks would have been worse.
This would be a good cake this year if one of them was Jewish.
My wife is also a Christmas baby and I somehow convinced her to marry me on this day. I love it since I don’t forget her birthday.
