The more important takeaway is they are routinely using Signal to communicate about what they are doing so they aren’t able to retain records about their (likely illegal) deliberations. They’re also using personal phones to do so, and I would bet those phones are compromised.

If pointing out Republican hypocrisy did anything, the GOP would have proofed out of existence decades ago, but it doesn’t, so it hasn’t.
I’m consistent. I want them all locked up. Please find any prior military member within your friend/family circle and ask about OPSEC, handling of classified material, and sensitive items. There are people doing life sentences for what seem like incredibly minor offenses in this area. It upsets me that what is a career ending offense leading to incarceration simply becomes a “yuk-yuk, oh well” at higher levels.

I am on the liberal side but I also think non-MAGA Republicans *hate* Trump & Co for being authoritarian in a way that supersedes even their conservative ideology. We cannot forget that most conservatives were once instilled with a deep sense of patriotism that mostly valued freedom from government tyranny. And even though I think people like Rubio are spineless twats, I will hazard a guess that that call is coming from inside the house. I’d bet $ a deeply unsettled pro-professional military Republican had something to do with the ‘fuckup’. Hegseth represents a steep decline in honor and respect and loyalty to the Constitution. They wanted to involve the Atlantic bc that media sphere is filled with anti-Trumper old school conservatives.
