I will never give YouTube money because I think they run their app like shit, which is a shame when it’s such a staple platform. Ergo I have a personal adblocker I developed that doesn’t trip YouTube’s defence system against them.
I honestly use it on my phone for mini player, and for playing music and videos when the screen is off. Adblock is just a nice bonus. And we have a family plan so it’s pennies per person

Paying for YouTube premium just means you don’t know how to internet well.

It’s there for a specific purpose and a specific people. If you’re not on youtube much and/or only use it on one device it doesn’t make much sense to get it. If you get on it constantly for whatever reason and need to sign in on many devices, or if you’re interested in the music side of it, it makes sense to get it.

Believe it or not, there are more people that don’t care.
I don’t get the Premium hate. Most everyone pays for the ad free version of the other streaming services like Hulu. YouTube has better more interesting content than all of the streaming services, plus music.
The people saying “just get Adblock” I mean yeah fair, if you are on your pc. If you use YouTube on your phone, most of us, or a smart tv, or you just don’t want to deal with a new Adblock every time Google patches it out
Add in being able to download videos or play things with your phone screen turned off, it’s nice.
