I’ve used micellar water on a similar mark on shoes but obviously test it somewhere inconspicuous first!

If it is a genuine LV bag, do you really want to risk ruining it by DIY? I would contact LV customer support or go to the store for a referral to a specialist in my area. If it is a fake item, isopropyl is what is used to dilute ink (including permanent marker)

Q tip and windex, if the windex doesn’t work go to rubbing alcohol

Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) will remove it easily. I very much doubt it would discolour the leather but do a test on an inconspicuous area inside the bag first

150 grit sand paper or belt sander 👌

First try pure rubbing alcohol as it has no risk ruining anything.

If it doesn’t, there are many more “odd” tricks with various risks involved. Wd-40, acetone,…

Brake clean will take anything off.

Soak the tip of a qtip in perfume. Rub only the ink… it will come off instantly. Wipe with a damp rag and dry quickly.

Hairspray worked on the seats of a car we used to own.

Q tip dipped in oil. Dab it & then dab it with tissue paper until ink is gone.

Cheap hairspray dabbed on with a soft cloth. Check it somewhere not noticeable first

Try nail polish remover on a q-tip. Test an area first though.

Magic eraser sponge

I wouldn’t… just get a Birkin and move on

Spray windex directly on the bag. Then soak a towel in bleach and rub

Those ain’t Rolex diamonds, wtf you done to that 🤔

Removing Ballpoint Pen Ink Marks on Patent Leather Bags: A Step-by-Step Guide

Patent leather bags are a stylish and sophisticated way to carry your belongings. However, they can also be prone to scuff marks and stains, which can be challenging to remove. One common problem faced by patent leather bag owners is the unsightly stain caused by ballpoint pen ink. If you’re dealing with a stubborn ballpoint pen ink mark on your patent leather bag, don’t worry! In this article, we’ll provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to remove the stain safely and effectively.

The Importance of Acting Quickly

The sooner you act to remove the ink stain, the better. Ballpoint pen ink can permanently bind to the patent leather material if left untreated, making it more difficult to remove. Therefore, it’s essential to address the stain as soon as possible.

Materials Needed

To remove the ballpoint pen ink mark, you’ll need the following materials:

  • White vinegar
  • Water
  • Mild dish soap
  • A clean cloth or cotton ball
  • A soft-bristled toothbrush (optional)
  • A hair dryer or fan
  • Patent leather cleaner or polish (optional)

Step-by-Step Removal Process

  1. Blot the Stain: Begin by gently blotting the ink stain with a clean cloth or cotton ball. Do not rub the stain as this can spread it further and damage the patent leather material.
  2. Mix the Cleaning Solution: In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 tablespoon of water.
  3. Apply the Cleaning Solution: Dip the clean cloth or cotton ball into the cleaning solution and apply it to the ink stain. Gently rub the stain in a circular motion, working from the outside in.
  4. Let it Sit: Allow the cleaning solution to sit on the stain for about 10-15 minutes. This will help loosen the ink.
  5. Wipe Away the Stain: Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe away the cleaning solution and the ink stain. Repeat this process if the stain is still visible.
  6. Use Mild Dish Soap (If Necessary): If the stain is still present after the above steps, try applying a small amount of mild dish soap directly to the stain. Gently rub the soap into the stain using a soft-bristled toothbrush.
  7. Rinse and Dry: Once you’ve removed as much of the stain as possible, use a clean cloth to wipe away any remaining soap residue. Use a hair dryer or fan to dry the area completely.

Additional Tips

  • If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can repeat the cleaning process several times until the stain is gone.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or rough cloths, as these can damage the patent leather material.
  • If the stain has permanently bonded to the patent leather, you may need to use a patent leather cleaner or polish to remove it. However, this method may not be as effective as the above steps, and it’s essential to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.

Conclusion

Removing ballpoint pen ink marks from patent leather bags requires patience, persistence, and the right cleaning materials. By following the steps outlined in this article, you should be able to safely and effectively remove the stain. Remember to act quickly, blot the stain gently, and use mild cleaning solutions to avoid damaging the patent leather material. With a little bit of effort, you can restore your patent leather bag to its original beauty and protect it from future stains and scuffs.

Tried using dish soap and water but it didn't shift.
