Get rid of that immediately down the toilet!
That’s the egg sac/pod (can’t remember the exact term)!!!! There’s hundreds of babies in there… DONT THROW AWAY! It will hatch in the trash!!! Best to flush it down the toilet!

I’m curious what kind of roach it was, was it one of the big ‘water bugs’ or one of the little ones, I think those are called German roach but I may be wrong on the name. For getting rid of them you definitely want them to be the big ones, they aren’t as hard to get rid of but the little ones are almost impossible to fully get rid of. I grew up in the panhandle of FL and dealing with those little wretches is a fact of life unfortunately.

Somebody say tictac mf I dare you

BTW don’t eat this on purpose or by accident op. A guy I know ate one for a dare and was extremely ill burping up a rotten egg smell for like 2 days after. Just saying

Time to wipe down all your counters, drawers and cabinets with bleach. Each night make sure absolutely no food is left on the counter tops, even crumbs, put all foods in containers. No water is left out in any sink or tub, even droplets. Vacuum every day and dump the vacuum canister in the outside trashcan each time. If you see one roach there are more. You have to make your home inhospitable. When vacuuming check on top of your cabinets, and behind the stove, under the stove top, and behind/under the fridge. They love to leave eggs, and die in these places as well. They eat the dead so that’s why you vacuum. Then call in the professional exterminator if you find any more. Very rarely will raid help the situation. A bug bomb is ok as a last resort and as long as you don’t live in an apartment. They just send the roaches into the other units and they will come back.

I bought potatoes for my local supermarket and when I got home and put the bag on the counter a few German cockroaches came running out of the bag. Took me a full year to get rid of them. I immediately put glue traps and everything else I could buy out and I would always still catch 1 or 2 a month on the traps. Definitely get that pod out of your house.

Yes, there are baby cockroaches in there. Yes it’s disgusting. But there aren’t thousands of babies inside. More like 18: https://youtube.com/shorts/NroBrgdjfKU?si=U-OzMe8wQhFcDfvm

The cockroach’s final act of defiance – lay 20,000 eggs to seek revenge.

The most affordable eggs you can find. You should make an omelette.

Perhaps I need to provide further context. The pic is taken in a public restroom in a mosque I’m currently staying in for the next 20 days (School work). I already know the restroom’s infested with cockroaches and have used camphor balls to try to shoo them away. Worst encounter was when I had to kill 4 cockroaches at the same time.

There’s probably a bigger question at hand: How do I completely remove an established network of cockroach paradise?

Do you own a blow torch?
I suggest burning it until the tile is no longer there.

Comments here are a nightmare. Great job reddit, I will never take cockroach disposal lightly again.

What about fire? I would think blasting it with even a cheap kitchen blowtorch would be enough to ensure no survivors.

Crush it then burn it. It’s an egg sack cockroaches are born with the ability to lay fertile eggs it’s always good to burn all parts of them. Sadly if you see a roach there are many more.

Forbidden jolly rancher.

I did that once and the damned thing split open and dozens of roach babies poured out and went off in all directions before I could even blink. I couldn’t kill any before they disappeared into every nearby crack and crevice within a second. Gave me a whole other level of respect for the common cockroach, one of the most formidable household pests know to humans.

It’s a bean. If you plant it, a giant cat-like cockroach will grow and you can have a new pet!

Egg sack. Burn it.

It’s a gem left by the cockroach. You slayed the monster, got the exp and now you have the “loot” from slaying that common enemy. Save that gem immediately!

great.. i’m dealing with a few roaches and now i know what to keep an eye out for. I haven’t seen anything like this yet but i wouldn’t be surprised if there are some out of sight.

That’s an egg sack. While the babies are young they’re significantly more vulnerable than their adult counterparts, but more likely to avoid or survive being crushed. You can throw it in a bonfire, or something. What I personally would do is fill a water bottle with vinegar and drop this in it. Close the bottle, then throw it somewhere far away from your house, like a public trash can. They likely won’t escape the bottle, the vinegar won’t drown them but it will erode their exoskeleton and turn their entire body into mush. If they do manage to escape the bottle, putting it far away from your house is the best choice.

Clean up dude.

Take off and nuke the entire site from orbit.

It’s the only way to be sure.

Great. You just helped it birth a gazillion more.

OP….if you haven’t yet, get rid of it, but it matters how!– ppl saying “flush it”..nooo…i wouldn’t chance it..I’d smash it in a tissue. (Cockroaches are hardy and tough bastards, even from birth, and they can live in water for some time, and those cases float anyway). Always smash them to goo; show no mercy. One cockroach is too many, and a gravid female is akin to having a million. You should check your cabinets good and other dark hidey spaces. Is this the only one you’ve seen?

Yup, that’s a roach egg sack. Seal the sack in a bag twice for good measure and dispose of it. Burning if your super paranoid. If this was just a random once off roach. It might not be nothing to worry about. Of you have an infestation. Use Gentrol Point Contol (Zoecon Gentrol Point Source IGR ZOE1007 https://a.co/d/jfnSnBF) available on Amazon. It breaks the reproductive cycle and stops roaches from being able to breed. Coupled with poison or other control methods I was able to reduce roach numbers in a previous he of mine.

Also seen this at my mother in law’s house, inside the bathroom inside of the clean bath towels. I discovered it when pulling out a towel to wrap my hair. I’d been using the towels in that linen closet for about 3 days.

She had many roaches all over the house. Mostly roach legs, around the sink, under the sink, in the kitchen cupboard where we would get “clean cups” to drink from, in her room, and in her master bathroom. Oh and a huge one belly up under the microwave.
